Peace Deluxeピース

A 1946 unfiltered short in a Raymond Loewy tin, and by some distance the heaviest thing here.

In production since 1946

Far East buys every product it reviews at retail. We take no money from tobacco manufacturers, run no affiliate links and sell nothing. Prices shown are indicative retail in the product’s home market.

Our notes

Peace Deluxe is a historical object that happens to still be in production. The vanilla-cased Virginia blend is genuinely aromatic — the tin smells like a pipe shop — and unfiltered at 28mg it hits accordingly.

We are scoring the craft, not recommending the dose. Two of these in a day is plenty for anyone.

What works
  • Distinct vanilla casing, unlike anything else in production
  • Loewy tin remains a design landmark
  • Dense, genuinely old-fashioned smoke
What does not
  • 28mg tar unfiltered — extreme by any measure
  • Loose tobacco in the mouth without a filter
  • Ten to a tin at a twenty-stick price

Tar and nicotine are the manufacturer or market-label declarations, measured by machine under ISO conditions. They do not describe what any individual smoker inhales.

Smoking kills. A high reader rating means people who smoke it like it. It does not mean it is safe, and no cigarette in this catalogue is safer than any other.
